Richmond, VA – (October 1, 2010) Transact Capital is pleased to announce that James Z. Sowers has joined their team as a Director in the Investment Banking Group.
Jim brings more than 25 years of experience in acquisitions and capital markets, including investment banking experience with BB&T Capital Markets and Sovereign Advisors along with corporate experience including LandAmerica, IBM, GE and PepsiCo.
His responsibilities will include assisting regional companies in mergers and acquisitions and raising capital.

Prior to joining Transact Capital, Jim was Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions with LandAmerica Financial Group. Previously, he worked as an investment banker with BB&T Capital Markets managing their restaurant and consumer products team. His earlier experience includes acquisition, financial planning, and regional CFO roles with KFC, treasury roles with PepsiCo and IBM, and financial planning with GE.
Jim holds a M.B.A. degree from Darden at the University of Virginia and a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
