Richmond, VA – Transact Capital Partners is pleased to announce that A. W. Scott Frayser has joined the firm as a Managing Director effective January 1. Scott brings more than 25 years of experience in executing Merger, Acquisition and Divestiture transactions for lower middle-market companies.
Scott’s experience dates back to 1988 when he co-founded Matrix Capital Markets Group, Inc. a middle-market M&A investment banking firm which was later sold to Mutual of New York in the early 2000’s. He then spent several years involved with raising capital and operating technology-based start-up and emerging growth companies. In 2009, Scott joined Wells Fargo’s M&A Advisory Services Group as its East Coast Managing Director.

Scott, who holds a Series 7, 63 and 79 FINRA securities licenses, will also join the affiliated company Transact Capital Securities LLC for executing security transactions involving capital raises and recapitalizations. Scott commented that: “I’ve been exploring ideas with Steve for the past couple of years of how we may work together, and I’m delighted that we have made this decision going forward.”
Scott was educated at the University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition to a B.S. Degree in Finance, he has pursued substantial post-graduate studies in financial analysis, business valuation and investment analysis.
