Robert P. Louthan is Managing Director and Chief Compliance Officer for Transact Capital Securities. He has over 36 years of business experience, including 28 years in Venture Capital, Private Equity, and Mergers and Acquisitions. In 2004, Bob founded Alpha Omega Capital Securities, an investment banking firm which was later acquired by Transact Capital in 2012.
Bob is also Founder and CEO of VeteranCrowd LLC. In this role, he is a recognized subject matter expert on military veteran led businesses, why they succeed and why they fail. A talented speaker, podcast host, and panelist, Bob blends humor with a lot of life’s little lessons.
A 1982 graduate of VMI, and a 1986 UVA/Darden MBA, Commissioned as a Combat Engineer, he served 14 years in various roles within the US Army Reserve. He holds the Series 7, 24, 28, 63, 79 and 99 licenses, and has served in various capacities as a director of privately held companies and in leadership of civic, business and alumni organizations. He currently serves as on the Advisory Board of The Capitala Group, a Charlotte-based asset management firm, and on the advisory boards of Apex Gear Company and Tumble, both veteran-led businesses. He is an experienced investor, advisor, and coach building a national investment banking operation focused upon serving veteran led companies with revenues up to $250 million.
Mr. Louthan is Past President of the Virginia Military Institute Alumni Association, and Past Chairman of the VMI Alumni Agencies Board.
